Editorial Policy
How the Flicket.me Editorial Team researches, writes, checks and corrects the guides on flicket.me. Last updated .
1. Sources, strongest first
- Law and regulation: EUR-Lex (for example the Schengen Visa Code, Regulation (EC) 810/2009).
- Official government and consulate pages: GOV.UK, travel.state.gov, Canada.ca (IRCC), Australian Department of Home Affairs, national immigration services.
- Industry bodies: IATA (including Timatic, which airlines use to check entry documents).
- Airlines and airports: conditions of carriage and official help pages.
- Reputable press: only for context, never as the only source for a rule.
Forum posts, other "dummy ticket" sites and AI answers are never a source for a rule. Where official sources disagree or are silent, we say so instead of guessing. We cite the exact article or page and link it.
2. How we use AI
Most guides are drafted with AI writing tools (large language models), working from the sources listed on the page. Before a draft is published it goes through an automated check that flags unsourced statements, absolute promises and banned claims, and the site owner decides what is published. Our data pages (fares, cheapest months) are generated from recorded search data, not written by AI.
We do not use AI to invent quotes, statistics, customer reviews, testimonials or author personas.
3. Review cadence
- Country and visa rules: we aim to recheck them every quarter, and sooner when an official source changes.
- Every guide shows the date it was last updated; a date changes only when the content does.
- Fare data on route pages is refreshed daily and shows the date it was checked.
4. Independence from partners
Flicket earns affiliate commissions (see How we make money).
Partners do not write, review or approve our guides, and they do not pay for placement or rankings. Affiliate
links are marked rel="sponsored". When a guide mentions Flicket's own visa reservation service, it
says so, and it says when ordering is paused.
5. Claims we do not make
No service can guarantee that a consulate will accept a document or approve a visa, so we never say that. We do not publish customer counts, ratings or reviews we cannot show. A test in our codebase blocks these phrases before a page can be published.
6. Corrections log
Report an error to support@flicket.me. Confirmed corrections are listed here.
| Date | Pages | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Visa reservation, pricing, FAQ, about, how it works and visa guides | Removed claims we could not verify: customer counts, a Trustpilot rating, "accepted by every embassy" and similar acceptance guarantees, "GDS" wording for a service that books through Duffel's airline API, and support promises we do not offer. Marked visa ordering as paused. | |
| Schengen and visa-document guides, FAQ, glossary | Corrected Schengen Visa Code citations: a flight reservation falls under Article 14(1)(d) and Annex II, point B(1) ("reservation of or return or round ticket"), not Article 14(1)(b) or (c). Linked the EUR-Lex consolidated text. |
